Today we bring personalization and folder customization to Poly! Give your file system a personal touch by customizing your folder colors, and adding “stickers” to the folders to help identify between them. You can even add emojis to your folders! See it in action 🎉
In addition to folder customization, we’re shipping customization for your view modes as well, letting you pick specific view modes per folder, and even set these views as default for shared folders you own. This allows you to give specific folders that extra touch. For example, you can make your photos folder into a feed, your documents into a table, or select “column” view for a project directory.
Our mission is to make your file system a “home” for your stuff that feels quintessentially personal. With these changes, we hope that becomes easier than ever.

This week we look back upon the largely forgotten history of airmail, an under-appreciated system we weren’t familiar with until we read Antoine de Saint-Exupéry’s excellent autobiographical recounting Vol de Nuit.
In the late 1910s right after planes became barely reliable, long-distance mail by flight began for the first time. It may seem banal now, but it was an incredible risk for pilots at the time — in 1919, one pilot died for every 115,000 miles flown… They often flew at night, over desert or ocean, with minimal instruments, all for your letters to arrive in the morning!
